François Berthoud 1994 illustration

This is my recreation of François Berthoud 'Wire Dummy' 1994. To create this illustration I used pastels for the garment and charcoal for the wire cage. Not everything in this illustration is in proportion but the use of the media has worked well.

Presentation

At last minute I decided to change my illustrator for my presentation as I came across the Fashion Illustrator Tanya Ling. When I gave out my presentation I received negative and positive feed back from my peers, the positive feed back was that I projected my voice well and came across loud and clear, another positive that I received was that my knowledge on my chosen illustrator was researched well and I had a clear understanding of what work she had done and what medias she had used to create her illustrations. From my presentation I also received negative feedback and where I could of improved for example one of my weaknesses was that on my power point presentation there wasn't enough visual images to look at for my audience, also another weakness was that at the start of my presentation i showed a lack of confidence in me but as I progressed through I became more confident and clearer on what I was talking about. I have learnt a lot from my research into the illustrator Tanya Ling as I have found new medias I can experiment with such as make-up which I came across Ling used for an advert in the magazine Harper Bazaar, this has opened my eyes up to new medias I can use for my own current project and future reference.

Nearly done my first full month studying fashion at college. I've been given my first brief and told what I need to do for it, I was also given my first decade which was 1910 to 1919 I researched into this decade and found out about the main events, art movements and famous designers. Paul Poiret was one of the designers I came across who was most famous for the invention of the 'hobble' skirt. I also came across many different things in the 1910s such as the art movement 'cubism' and the two co founders of that art movement. All this research was done in the first 2 - 3 weeks at college.
